Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award

In September 2025, Cheryl Plaxico was one of five attorneys honored to receive the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award, which honors women who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession and have paved the way for other women.

Since 1996, Spotlight Awards have been awarded to five women each year that have distinguished themselves in the legal profession. In 1998, the award was named after Mona Salyer Lambird, a pioneer for women in the legal profession and the first woman Oklahoma Bar Association president.

The Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award is particularly special to Cheryl as she and Mona were friends and Mona provided great inspiration and support to her.
